Home Projects

These are some of Shayla's latest decorating projects. I think she did an amazing Job. We got such a good deal on that mirror and I think it fits perfect.

We finally found a decent price on large Snail Vines, so earlier this week we planted them and wrapped them up ever other post. Already just having that added green to our back yard makes such a difference. I go out about every day to adjust and train the vines to grow right. I'm just to excited to see what it will look like when it all fills in.

By request (Tricia) we have added a picture of our house since some of you have not had the chance to see it.

A couple months ago we planted these Star Jasmine vines in front our pillars and flowers around our tree. We had to dig down about 2 feet to get all the weed grass roots out from around the tree.

Last week finally had to put down some bark so cover up the dirt. We had been planning on filling it in with plants but we could never decide which type. But we had some wild cat that was constantly doing its business in the dirt which made the front of our house quite smelly. We tried all sorts of things to make the dirt smell less desirable, cayenne pepper, vinegar, etc.. but nothing worked. So I finally bought some weed-barrier and bark to cover the dirt. It seemed to be working great until yesterday I found a huge turd in there. So disappointed!!

Lake Tahoe Trip 2009

Delicious dinner at Zephyr Cove. We spent the day at South Shore.
The beach at 999

I made Mama Streiff's German Apple Pancakes for breakfast!! YUMMMM

The Kaiser Estate where the Godfather II was filmed

Brandon putting together a lamp that was missing parts. He is so crafty

Shanna decided to put fresh paint in the livingroom. It looks so much better!

We went to the top of Heavenly Valley in South Shore. We rode the gondola then a chairlift to the top and took the zip line down. We ended up at the top in a rain storm and it got pretty chilly. As soon as we got to the bottom the sun came out and it was beautiful again. Go figure!!! It was an experience!!

Thunderbird Lodge in the background

We took the tour of the Thunderbird Lodge

A 600 foot tunnel underground between the buildings of the estate

The Thunderbird boat. It has two Allison airplane engines. George Whittel hid it during the war to keep the government from taking it from him for the war effort.

Shanna modeling the extra classy Wendover lighting....

Shanna teaching me how to blog....Markus....after his cat nap....

Fireworks at the Hyatt...reminded me of our wedding when Paul busted out the illegal stash...

Our lastest project -The Trellis

I should start working in about 2 weeks so I thought I better get some of our big projects done before I'm working every day.

This is how our yard use to look.

As you can see our yard was all pool and concrete so we need to do some thing to get so green growing in our back yard

Once all the pices were cut shaped and drilled it took just over day to get it put together.

This is the final product. we sealer it today so it looks much nicer. We will try and update you all when we get some plants growing on it.
